Custom Clothing
Yes, we do make custom clothing! Ruthie can't turn down a fun project, and unique creations are the most fun of all! Here is our process:

First Consult
Our first meeting is about information gathering. We're going to look at patterns (ones I have, ones you bring) and pictures and really define down what it is you want. We're going to talk fabric, and start browsing what's available that fits your vision! Also, we are going to take your measurements, so we can create a You Specific pattern!
First consults are going to be lots and lots of questions and brainstorming, so come with your thinking cap!

Creating the Pattern
At Ruthie Ks, when we make custom clothing, we create a special pattern that is exact to your specifications. That way, if you ever want another version of this garment, all we have to do is pull out your file, find more fabric, and set to work!

Creating a Test Garment (The Sloper)
The last thing we want to do is cut up your dream fabric wrong! So to test your pattern, we first cut out a Sloper; a trial version of your garment, made out of a cheap fabric we keep on hand. This gives us a chance to refine your pattern and make sure it measures up before we ever touch the real fabric.

Making Your Perfect Garment!
It's finally time! We cut out your fabric and start putting together your dream garment. At this stage, we're going to see a lot of each other! We are going to schedule you for regular fittings, until the final product looks exactly how we planned together. This can take anywhere from 3 fittings to 5 or 6, depending on the complexity of the project (a single shirt vs. a 5 piece suit!). But at the end, you will have your vision come to life, and we will have another confident, classy client!

This entire process takes a minimum of 4 months to complete, so make sure you plan ahead!
